Ah! A brisk 13 degrees as I write. Even colder breeze blowing. I need to go outside to feed the birds and have been postponing that adventure. Last night Pete and I went to the Hartford HS to watch the Scarlet Tanangers play in a sectional game. I have two great young women I watch; Lydia Jones and Kayla Casey. They beat Fort Edward soundly. These young women are very self-assured and strong. I wonder about my generation of women - how would be have been different if we had played an agressive sport.
I will get going - feed the birds and prepare for church at 11. Spring is just around the corner - that is what the calendar says anyhow. Everyone here in the north country is at the stage of wanting it over. The "it" being Winter along with all of it's acoutrements. I am very fortunate to have gotten out of it for a week and gathered in the warm sunshine to my soul.
I am playing more and causing Sebastian to be more involved since his deafness has taken him to a place of silence and sleep. My goal is to keep him alert in the hope of preventing further ageing. Stimulation is the key. He has always been alert and following my every move throughout the day. Now he sleeps. He looks like a small polar bear right now just before grooming date.
I will write more later -
Teresa of Avila wrote this prayer:
Let me die to myself that I may serve You,
Let me live to You who are life itself.
